This is just a short note to remind everyone about this month’s meeting at my house on May 10 at 6:30 pm. The address is 404 13th Street, Post Falls (phone 777-9887).
There is not a lot of business to discuss so the emphasis will be on Rendezvous planning. We are still looking for volunteers to help make this year’s rendezvous successful. Steve Crowder is the Booshway. We need people to help set up, take down gear and make prizes.
Please plan to attend and bring your ideas!
I would like to thank Jim Parker for R-O’ing for the April Shoot. I heard he put on a pretty good shoot.
I’m thinking about putting paper up for the May Shoot. So, if you’re not sure where your rifle or pistol is shooting, you’ll know after this shoot. I know steel is more fun, but it has been awhile since we have shot paper..
We are still looking for a Range Officer. If you’re interested, please contact me.
That’s all for this month. Shoot Straight
Arnold Abey
Eleven shooters braved a drizzly gray morning to come out and shoot. Jim Parker served as Rangemaster with Ron Kruse’s assistance with hauling the targets out to their places on the range. We shot crows, gophers, turkeys, buffalo and a few novelty targets for a total of 22 points possible.
1st Place: Archie Gollen – 20 points
2nd Place Jim Hester - 19 Points

Tied with Howard Wright
There were two lady shooters this month. We need one more to earn braggin’ rights.
Lloyd Vivian was on hand to serve chili for lunch accompanied by Barbara Kruse’s delicious banana bread.
After lunch 7 shooters returned to the Range for a Pistol Match.

Club Members Teach Scouts
The weekend of April 14 and 15 found several of our members at the Boy Scout Camp Easton.
Bill Delyea demonstrated a primitive camp.
Lloyd Vivian, Barbara and Ron Kruse and Pawnee taught skills and crafts connected with the Fur Trade and Buckskinning era.
They pitched their wall tests and used them for classrooms. Pawnee taught blacksmithing. Barbara demonstrated bone chokers, Ron taught moccasin making and Lloyd showed how to make medicine bags and knife sheaths.
There were about seventy five scouts on hand for the weekend, though not all attended every workshop.
The scouts expressed appreciation to these volunteers as individuals and representatives of our club.
May Shoot is 3rd Sunday – May 20
